About SUS Handicraft

Handicraft from the frequently used category arts and crafts is a matter of intent: handicraft items are intended to be used, worn, etc, having a purpose beyond simple decoration. Handicrafts are generally considered more traditional work, created as a necessary part of daily life, while arts and crafts implies more of a hobby pursuit and a demonstration/perfection of a creative technique. In practical terms, the categories have a great deal of overlap. Sabalamby Unnayan Samity (SUS) working on Handicraft since 1986. Handicraft products of SUS have been made by experience and skilled Workers. After finishing SUS own designed products have been sold in local and foreign Market by collecting order.

Objective:
• To create opportunity to employment for skilled Adolescent.
• To increase supply of local products and do marketing.
• To create Source of income.

Activities of SUS Handicraft:
Batik Section:
15 Skilled workers are working in Batik section. In this year, 4697 products have been produced by batik section and 339 products were second graded. To produce the produced SUS Batik section Bought raw-material of 507994.19 taka and 133160.00 taka wages has been given. A huge amount of three-piece products have been sold in the market during this year. In this year Batik section created total 45 new designs. Among these designs 15 have complete for local market and 30 design for foreign market.

Nokshi Section:
30 Skilled workers are working in Nokshi section. They made 1303 products in this year and 20 products were second graded. To produce the produced SUS Nakshi section Bought raw-material of 134535.97 taka and 122637.00 taka wages has been given. A huge amount of three-piece products have been sold in the market during this year as well as Batik section.

Sewing Section:
11 skilled workers are working in sewing section in present. In this year they have made 2025 products and 15 products were second graded. To produce the produced SUS sewing section Bought raw-material of 62096.15 taka and 80081.00 taka wages has been given. In this year Batik section created total 35 new designs. Among these designs 20 have completed for local market and 15 designs for foreign market.

Bamboo and Cane Section:
19 skilled workers are working in bamboo and can section. In this year they have produced 4171 products and 30 products were second graded. To produce the produced SUS bamboo and cane section Bought raw-material of 54001.00 taka and 67574.00 taka wages has been given. In this year bamboo and cane section created total 35 new designs. Among these designs 10 have completed for local market and 25 designs for foreign market.

Hand loam Section:
13 skilled workers are working in Hand loam Section. In this year they have produced 2564 products and 5 products were second graded. To produce the produced SUS hand loam section Bought raw-material of 82476.75 taka and 52801.00 taka wages has been given. They provided 5 new samples to increase the sale of products.

Handicraft productions sections products have been should in local market through SUS own showroom. Beside this SUS also have been sold the produced products in Dhaka through SOURCE and products also been sold in local market of Bangladesh through BAIS Khulna, HID Bangladesh, Gazipur. Products have been sold in abroad through Global girl friend, Italy, Fare trade, Korea, SIHUM Craft link, Australia, Woland, Denmark, Ultra Quality, and Italy.

Other Activities:
Awareness building work: By the assistance of MCA producer have performed in a drama presentation to raise awareness on HIV. It was celebrated in Janata High School, Khotib Nogua, Netrakona.

Training: A staff has got 4 days training on office management.
